Roads need planning too: last year, Goa’s roads stayed jammed for hours and Kovalam restricted vehicles from noon, so allow extra time and arrive by day.

Mistakes to avoid:

• Arriving on 31 December itself. Reach by the 30th, since roads and checks tighten from noon in places like Kovalam.
• Assuming a free fireworks show. Confirm the display: Marine Drive had few fireworks in 2025, and Andaman beaches restrict them.
• Booking Andaman boats and stays separately. Ferry timings decide the whole itinerary, so keep both on one booking.
• Flying out on the morning of 1 January. After a late night, a later departure is safer.
• Leaving your ride home to chance. Pre-book cabs, because roads jam and rides run short late at night.
