The “Land of high passes”, a Buddhist kingdom, and a cold desert in the Himalayan region. Leh Ladakh is a gem and a dream destination for many to explore on their bike solo, with partners, or with their travel buddies! With picturesque landscapes, peaceful gompas, crystal clear lakes, and beautiful monasteries, the places to explore in this Himalayan rugged desert are numerous! Some of the iconic places of Leh Ladakh include Magnetic Hills, Pangong Lake, Nubra Valley, Leh city, and a lot more!

On this 8 days long trip to Leh Ladakh, we will be exploring Leh city, Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake. The journey will commence from Leh city, which is the capital and the largest city of the Ladakh region. The city offers many places to visit which include Magnetic Hill, known to experience the non-existence of Gravity, Shanti Stupa, for a beautiful view of Leh city, Leh Palace, to witness the heritage of royals, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, to seek blessings, Sangam point, to witness the confluence of Zanskar and Indus river, Alchi Monastery, a treasure of Leh Ladakh and the Leh market to get souvenirs for yourself and your loved one. Your itinerary also includes the deserted Nubra Valley. Before reaching the destination you will be also stopping at the second-highest motorable pass, Khardung La. Here in Nubra Valley, we will be exploring the beautiful Diskit Monastery, witnessing the wonder of double-humped camels, also called the Bactrian camels. We will also do a day trip to Turtuk village, the village opened for tourists just 2-3 years back and is situated on the Indo-Pak border. Any trip to Leh Ladakh is incomplete before exploring the majestic Pangong Lake. How magical it will look to witness the lake changing its color throughout the day! Here you will also get the chance to bring out the Bollywood in yourself and recreate the scenes from the movie 3-Idiots. We will also visit Thiksey Monastery, the largest and one of the most beautiful gompas in Leh Ladakh.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Leh and Acclimatization

Arrive in Leh and check into your hotel or guesthouse.

Spend the day resting and acclimatizing to the high altitude (3,500m/11,500ft) to avoid altitude sickness.

Take it easy and avoid strenuous activities or exercise.

Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 2

Leh Local Sightseeing, overnight stay in Leh

Wake up, have breakfast, and head toward the peaceful and quaint village of Alchi.

The first stop on the way will be Magnetic Hill, make sure to experience its popular phenomenon.

Next will be Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, visit here to know the history of gurudwara. Then take a stop at Sangam point which is the famous viewpoint for the confluence of Zanskar and Indus.

Visit Alchi monastery and our last stop for the day will be the Hall of Fame museum, a place dedicated to the sacrifices of our soldiers.

Day 3

Leh Local Sightseeing(Shey Palace, Hemis & Thiksey), Overnight stay in Leh

After breakfast, head out to explore the Shey Palace, a former summer palace of the Ladakhi kings, and admire its stunning architecture and artwork.

Visit Hemis Monastery, one of the largest and most famous monasteries in Ladakh, and explore its beautiful buildings, art, and artifacts.

Drive to Thiksey Monastery, another important and picturesque monastery in Ladakh, and visit its many temples and assembly halls.

Return to Leh in the evening.

Day 4

Leh to Nubra, Overnight stay in Nubra

After breakfast, leave for Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in the world at 5,359m/17,582ft.

Enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas and the Karakoram ranges from the pass.

Reach Nubra Valley and check into your hotel.

Spend the rest of the day exploring the local villages and scenic landscapes of Nubra Valley.

Day 5

Turtuk Day Excursion, overnight stay in Nubra

Enjoy your breakfast with a view and start your ride towards Turtuk village.

An offbeat village, also known as the getaway to the Siachen glacier.

Make sure to try or buy the delicious Apricots from here!

Head back to Nubra for an overnight stay.

Day 6

Nubra to Pangong, Overnight stay in pangong

Begin your scenic drive to the color-changing Pangong Lake.

Enjoy the view of the sometimes blue and other times green lake.

Recreate the 3-idiots movie scenes.

Sleep overnight in the camps.

Day 7

Pangong to Leh, Overnight stay in Leh

After breakfast, drive back to Leh, retracing the same route.

Reach Leh and check into your hotel or guesthouse.

Spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring the town or relaxing.

Day 8

Departure

Wake up, enjoy the morning mountain view, have your breakfast, and pack to fly back home.

Head to the airport, and board your flight for your destination.
